Practice Areas
SOME OF OUR PRACTICE AREAS INCLUDE: Discrimination, Adverse Actions, Disability Retirement, and Workers' Compensation.
Discrimination
We provide full service legal representation to federal and postal employees—in Southern California, Southern Nevada, and Arizona—before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) regarding claims of discrimination based on age, color, gender (including sexual harassment), ethnicity, race, religion or reprisal.
The United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) hears complaints from federal and postal employees alleging discrimination under the Civil Rights laws including Title VII, the Equal Pay Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Rehabilitation Act.
The EEOC is a very powerful organization with complex case law and procedures. Consequently, it is not uncommon for employees to fail to get the results they deserve from the EEOC.
For this reason, it is important to have an EEOC attorney represent you to make sure that you follow the correct steps along the way and ensure that you are aware of your rights. We can help you—from filing the initial complaint all the way through the final administrative appeals process.
If you have been subjected to discrimination, you must act quickly. In most cases, you have only forty-five days to file your complaint. Barring extremely exceptional circumstances, if you miss the filing deadline, you will not be allowed to file. You will be denied any right of appeal. So, even if you are waiting for a grievance or whatever, do not delay. Act now.
Also, bear in mind that your initial counseling contact is made with employees of your employing agency, not with the EEOC itself. So, even if an EEO intake counselor tells you that you do not have a case, do not withdraw your complaint. Seek professional guidance before giving up any of your rights under the law.
